OREANDA-NEWS. July 31, 2008.  In H1 2008, Belarusian Steel Works (BMZ trademark) exported products at the amount of almost USD 922 million, or 37% up over the same period last year.

In January-June 2008, the import of the company reached USD 366 million. The export exceeded the import by USD 555.6 million.

According to Vitaly Chernel, BMZ exports its products to more than 50 countries worldwide. The strategy of the export expansion is based on the efficient work of BMZ marketing services and creation of a dealer network in various regions of the world. Belarusian Steel Works has organized joint trading companies in Germany, Austria, the USA, China, Lithuania, Poland and Russia.

Over the six months, BMZ exported 1 million 335.2 thousand tonnes of products at the amount of Br2 trillion 228.9 billion.

Over the six months this year, the profitability of the sold products made up 28.1%. The profits of the company increased 1.3 times to make up Br490 billion.

Founded in 1984, Belarusian Steel Works is an export-oriented company delivering its products to more than 50 countries. Exports account for 85% of the output. BMZ manufactures cast sections, rolled sections, profiled iron, reinforcing bars, metal cord and other kinds of wire. In July, Belarusian Steel Works started the production of seamless hot-rolled pipes. In 2006-2007, Belarusian Steel Works was recognized best company in terms of quality of products and most efficient steel plant in the CIS.
