OREANDA-NEWS. On 1 August 2008 was announced, that Kazakhstan Electricity Association (KEA) delegates arrived to Iran based on official invitation of Iranian colleges and participated in a number of meetings with representatives of business interests and public sector as well as visited energy facilities of Iran. During the visit Kazakhstan delegation attended reviving and repairing sites of energy facilities and got acquainted with power plants equipment and technical and engineering capabilities of Iranian electric industry.

At the meetings there were questions discussed regarding the perspectives for national and regional energy industry development including almost the whole range of key problems, starting with assessment of perspective development of alternative energy sources up to making scenarios for energy cooperation between the two countries.

As a result of the meeting of KEGOC JSC representatives and Iran Power Generation & Transmission Management Organization (TAVANIR) there was signed Memorandum of Understanding envisaging the participation of Iranian electric energy companies in development and construction of Kazakhstan electric networks, supply of electric equipment and rendering engineering services. Also, to determine the priority directions for bilateral cooperation development, Chairman of KEA and Chairman of Iranian Electrical Industry Syndicate signed the Minute of Understanding and Agreement of Mutual Cooperation.

In conclusion, it is worth noting that the visit of Kazakhstan energy delegates to Iran has defined a new stage in development of Kazakhstan and Iranian economic relations aimed at mutually beneficial cooperation and integration in electric industry of both countries.
