OREANDA-NEWS. August 1, 2008.  The National Bank of Azerbaijan has announced that as to July 1 of the year country’s bank system assets reached USD 10.773 bn (rate: AZN 0.8117 = US\\$1).

NBA reports that as of 1st July 2008 Azerbaijan banks’ assets were AZN 8.7 bn against AZN 7.415 bn nu 1st April 2008, AZN 6.725 bn by early 2008 and AZN 5.048 bn by 1st July 2007.

In the structure of assets there prevailed credits for clients (AZN 5.908 bn versus AZN 4.39 bn by early 2008 and AZN 3.196 bn following the same term of 2007), finances on correspondent accounts (AZN 928.93 million versus AZN 693.12 million and AZN 670.59 million respectively), investments (AZN 536.34 million versus AZN 472.3 million and AZN 300.68 million) and cash finances (AZN 326.54 million versus AZN 285.9 million and AZN 221.44 million respectively). Credits and deposits of financial sector made AZN 385.18 million versus AZN 287.26 million and AZN 232.22 million respectively.

As of 1st July 2008 the banks had liabilities of AZN 7.35 bn versus AZN 5.627 bn by early 2008 and AZN 4.206 bn by 1st July 2007.

In the structure of liabilities there prevailed deposits (AZN 4.015 bn against AZN 3.437 bn and AZN 2.6 bn respectively), credits and deposits of financial sector (AZN 2.338 bn versus AZN 1.72 bn and AZN 1.25 bn respectively).
