OREANDA-NEWS. On 11 August 2008 was announced, that METRO Cash & Carry launched a special promotional campaign for its customers with luxury prizes to celebrate the 5th year of its successful operations in Ukraine.

Having opened its first wholesale store in Kyiv back in August 2003 today the company operates 20 stores in 15 cities. As of today METRO Cash & Carry Ukraine invested over ? 380 Mio. into the development of its country-wide store network creating almost 7,000 jobs for Ukrainians.

Within the coming years METRO Cash & Carry Ukraine plans to continue its expansion throughout Ukraine. In 2008 the company already opened two stores: one in Ivano-Frankivsk and the second store in Odessa. The construction of its third wholesale store in Donetsk region and its first store in Simferopol has already started.

METRO Cash & Carry Ukraine will hold its anniversary drawing from 11 – 26 August for customers in all twenty stores. Five winners will enjoy a full day with one of the celebrities such as Vlad Yama or Andre Tan. Others can win Louis Vetton bag, Vertu mobile phone, trip to Maldivy islands, Omega watch or Accer Ferrari Notebook.

After the official drawing of all winners on 1 September METRO Cash & Carry will invite all winners in mid-September to an award ceremony and a private concert of Ani Lorak to Kyiv. In addition, from 11 – 15 August a daily pro-motion of over 150 food and non-food articles with special discounts will be organized.

Within 5 years of operations in Ukraine METRO Cash & Carry opened 20 wholesale stores: three in Kyiv, two in Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk and Odesa, one in Kharkiv, Lviv, Luhansk, Kryvyi Rih, Poltava, Vinnytsa, Zaporizhya, Chernivtsi, Mykolaiv, Rivne and Ivano-Frankivsk.
