OREANDA-NEWS. August 08, 2008. As part of a program to expand its electronic services, S7 Airlines, Russia’s largest air carrier on domestic routes, has implemented a new technology allowing purchases of airline tickets through the company’s own Internet Booking Engine.* The technology greatly simplifies the process of purchasing tickets on the website www.S7.ru, opens up new possibilities for passengers and ensures safe information transfer, reported the press-centre of S7 Airlines.

Convenient searching and fare selection
The ticket purchasing process consists of six simple steps: Search, Flight Selection, Route Display, Passengers, Payment and Confirmation.

The new technology makes it possible to expand the search range when searching fares by date. The fare search range has been expanded from +/- 3 days from the given date to +/- 7 days. All the relevant flight information is presented in intuitive, comprehensible form: the fare system, date, flight time, type of airplane and name of the airline. The fare applicability rules are presented in detail, and the full ticket price is indicated including surcharges, so the passenger can choose the most appropriate fare.

The list of available flights includes information about meals, flight distances and layovers. Passengers who purchase paper tickets receive contact information about the sales offices where the ticket can be picked up.

Easy payment
The new technology expands the payment possibilities as well. Now, in addition to VISA, Master Card and American Express, you can pay with Diners Club and Japan Credit Bureau (JCB). In autumn of 2008, S7 Airlines passengers will be able to reserve their tickets on the website and pay for their flight through the QIWI network of payment terminals or with the electronic currency Yandex-Dengi.

Tickets on the flights of partner airlines
Now S7 Airlines passengers can purchase tickets on the flights of its partner airlines on the website. The flights of ten airlines have been entered into the reservation system. Special fares agreed upon between airlines are applied when transfers are necessary. Tickets purchased at these fares are significantly cheaper than separate tickets purchased on several flight segments.

High level of security
S7 Airlines is improving its security system for website ticket purchases. For the first time in Russia, our website uses modern expanded Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) security certificate technology, which significantly increases the level of personal data protection. The green indicator in the browser address field tells you that you are transferring information along a secure channel.**

3D Secure technology for international payment systems, which allows issuing banks to offer additional protection of bank cards,*** has also been introduced on the website.

Independent check-in
In autumn of 2008, S7 Airlines passengers will be able to check in through the company’s website. S7 Airlines also plans to install its own independent passenger check-in kiosks in a number of airports.
