OREANDA-NEWS. August 13, 2008. Director General of Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation Sergey Kiriyenko has congratulated Nikita Lobintsev and Danila Izotov from the “nuclear” city of Novouralsk, who have won silver medal at the Beijing Olympic Games as part of Russian team in men’s 4 x 200 freestyle relay final.

In his greetings telegram Kiriyenko says that the victory of our team has not only given Russia the fifth silver medal but has also become a real present for all Russian nuclear workers as half of the team were natives of the “nuclear” city of Novouralsk.

“Novouralsk is a small city and its residents, most of whom work at Ural Electrochemical Integrated Plant, are happy that their city has given birth to such outstanding sportsmen. The whole of our nuclear industry is proud of you.”

“The Beijing Olympic Games, as any high-level international competition, requires maximum of effort. This makes your victory especially valuable. We believe in you and would like to wish you new gold victories!” says Kiriyenko.

Today, Russia’s men’s team – Nikita Lobintsev, Evgeniy Lagunov, Danila Izotov and Alexander Sukhorukov — won silver medals in 4 x 200 freestyle relay final and set up a new European record — 7:03.70.
