Trading house Gomselmash-Chuvashia will be set up in the Chuvash Republic of the Russian Federation this year, Minister of Industry and Energy of the Chuvash Republic Yuri Voloshin noted during the international seminar Russia Today which is being held in Cheboksary now.

The trading house will be set up in line with the decisions adopted by the working group on cooperation development between Chuvashia and Belarus, Yuri Voloshin said.

According to Yuri Voloshin, dealer and servicing centres of the Minsk Tractor Works and the Smorgon Aggregate Plant successfully operate in Chuvashia. The establishment of direct contacts between producers and customers will be continued. Specialized dealer and servicing centres of Belarusian producers of automobile and road-construction machinery will appear in Chuvashia soon. Moreover, Chuvashia intends to propose Belarusian companies to produce trucks, cars, school buses, bus chassis jointly.

According to Yuri Voloshin, the Industry Ministry of Belarus proposes Chuvashia to set up machine-technological centres equipped with agricultural equipment of Gomselmash in the territory of the republic.

The Chuvash Republic is also interested in supplies of Belarusian road-construction and automobile equipment produced by Belarusian companies Amkodor and BelautoMAZ. The Russian region is ready to increase the supplies of elevators produced by Mogilevliftmash.

The Chuvash Republic is one of the most developing regions of the Russian Federation. In 2007, the trade between Chuvashia and Belarus exceeded USD 52 million, or 12% up as against 2006. In 2007, Belarus exported goods at the amount of USD 16 million (24% up as against 2006) to Chuvashia. Belarus’ main exports to Chuvashia are spare parts for tractors and trucks, minitractors, radioelements, polyamide, consumer goods, polyester thread, polyethylene.
