OREANDA-NEWS. On 21 August 2008 was announced, that President of Turkmenistan addressed the welcoming statement to participants of the International Exhibition and Conference Basic Trends in Development of Turkmenistan’s Power Industry.

“Having the countless reserves of energy resources Turkmenistan affords a glaring example of an effective approach to the use of its profound natural and economic potential for the benefit of the present and future generations, - the statement says. “Today the Turkmen state’s energy policy is based on the search for the most advantageous for Turkmenistan trends and opportunities to increase export of energy resources to the world markets.

“Mineral deposits in Turkmenistan are proved by the results of the integrated survey carried out by the large geophysical companies. In collaboration with many countries of the world and the national institutions several draft projects on construction of the gas pipelines Turkmenistan-Iran, Turkmenistan-China, Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India and the Caspian gas pipeline were elaborated.

“Electric power production activities of national importance are expanded. Modernization of the Mary State Power Station, putting the power stations into operation in Balkanabat, Abadan, Ashgabat, construction of a power station in Dashoguz and other large-scale projects testify to that the most grandiose achievement in power industry are to follow.

“Turkmen energy resources are of great demand worldwide, supply of Turkmen electric power to the neighbouring countries is an evidence of recognition of Turkmenistan by the international community as an economically developed state”.

The Turkmen leader expressed belief that the international exhibition and conference organized by the Ministry of Energy and Industry of Turkmenistan in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry will present the remarkable achievements Turkmenistan’s power industry had gained during the years of independence to the world community, the relevant activity in the country and advanced technologies applied in industry as well as be an opportunity to discuss the issues of joint work with the companies interested in partnership with Turkmenistan, to define the prospects of further co-operation with foreign specialists, scientists and experts – to exchange experiences.
