OREANDA-NEWS. August 21, 2008. As the Ministry of Economy and Trade informed, this conclusion was made by the working group involved in assessing damage from the flood.

The results of its work were made public today during the meeting chaired by the First Vice-Premier, the Minister of Economy and Trade Igor Dodon. As it was noted, about 20% of the total damage was caused to infrastructure in the result of destruction of roads. About 15% is damage caused to agricultural lands. 65% is damaged real estate.

These are destroyed houses, villas, shops, recreational camps and bases, sanatoriums. It was noted that now the priority of the government is provision of housing for the victims of the flood till the winter season.

This requires reparation of 149 houses and provision of housing to 242 families. So far, 57 houses were purchased for the victims of the flood. Negotiations on purchasing 64 houses more are being held now.

It was also noted that the flood affected 3318 hectares of land owned by economic entities, and 1514 hectares of land owned by individuals.
