OREANDA-NEWS. August 28, 2008. President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev has included the International Uranium Enrichment Center in Angarsk in the list of legal entities allowed to have own nuclear materials.

The text of the decree was placed on the web-site of the Kremlin on Thursday.

The International Uranium Enrichment Center was set up by Russia and Kazakhstan on the basis of Angarsk Electrolytic Chemical Combine in May 2007. The Center is situated in Angarsk (Irkutsk region) and is supposed to provide participant-states with guaranteed access to uranium enrichment capacities so they can meet their own needs for nuclear fuel without creating own nuclear fuel cycles.
