OREANDA-NEWS. On 02 September 2008 was announced, that Belarus’ average wage in nominal terms reached 923,277 Belarusian rubles (Br) [equivalent to U.S. USD 437.4] in July, up 3.5% month-on-month, an official with the Statistics Ministry told.

In real terms [adjusted for the increase in the consumer prices], the average monthly wage increased 2.6%.

Over the past 12 months, the average wage/salary increased 26.1% in nominal terms and only 8.5% in real terms.

According to First Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Semashko, Belarus’ average wage will reach 966,000 rubles in December 2008.

In 2007, the average wage/salary was at 701,000 rubles, compared to 591,000 rubles in 2006.
