OREANDA-NEWS. September 5, 2008. N.E.Zhukovsky Aero-Hydro-Dynamics Institute (TsAGI) experts developed a unique facility to be used for measuring CoG, mass and inertia momentum of the satellites.

This facility is the only one in the world which provides very high precision in measuring static and dynamical parameters of the bulky objects (mass up to 1500kg). For mass measurement, the accuracy is ± 0,1kg, for CoG- not more than ± 2mm, for inertia momentums along each axis- not more than ± 2%.
For the measurements, the satellite is accomodated on a special adjusted flowing platform. The facility is also equipped by IVK M2 computer system and Potock application SW.

The data obtained with the help of this facility will help optimizing satellite mission control process.
