OREANDA-NEWS. September 17, 2008. The Belarusian-Latvian commission will sign the final documents on demarcation of the joint border.

“On September 17-18, Minsk will host a regular session of the joint demarcation Belarusian-Latvian commission. During the work of the session, the sides will sign the final demarcation documents (maps, description of the border),” specialists noted.

The interstate procedures to approve the signed documents will become the next stage of the final demarcation of the Belarusian-Latvian border.

Thus, Belarus will have undemarcated borders with the Russian Federation and Ukraine only. At the same time, however, Belarus and the Russian Federation set up the Union State, so they do not need the demarcation of the joint border. As for Ukraine, the Belarusian-Ukrainian border will be demarcated within the next few years, Head of the Belarusian State Border Committee Igor Rachkovsky told reporters.
