OREANDA-NEWS. September 22, 2008. Two SibCOTES’ engineers were awarded the prizes at the Conference of Young Specialists in power industry. The Conference was held in Khotkovo (Moskow region) on September 9-12, 2008 and sponsored by the Engineering Centre UES of Russia. Over 100 speakers from Russia and CIS countries attended the event.
 
The second prize (the first prize was not awarded) in the session “Economy, efficiency, quality, and marketing” was given to Zoya Glushakova, SibCOTES’ engineer from Business Development Department, who presented her paper Comparative analysis of efficiency of implementation of investment projects for the construction of gas-fired and coal-fired generation facilities.
 
The second prize (the first prize was not awarded either) in the session “Heat and power engineering and mechanical equipment” was given to Olga Pilipenko, engineer from the same Department. She presented the paper Development of a circular furnace boiler firing Kuznetsky bituminous gas coal and long-flame coal for a 330 MW power unit using computational 3-D modeling methods.  
 
Moreover, two more young engineers from SibCOTES also presented their papers at the Conference. In the session “Heat and power engineering and mechanical equipment” Andrey Kuzmin made a presentation on the software system for automated data processing at power plants. Denis Kurochkin told the audience about our experience in the development and application of automatic load-frequency control and data subsystems on 120 MW units at Nazarovskaya power plant in the session “Electrical and C&I systems”.
