OREANDA-NEWS. September 26, 2008. Russia will build 12 nuclear reactors in other states by 2020, Deputy Director of Atomenergoprom OJSC Vladislav Korogodin said during “Fuel and Energy Complex of Ukraine: Present and Future” international forum.

“35 nuclear reactors are being built worldwide for the moment, 12 of them by Atomenergoprom. We are the world’s leader in this field,” Korogodin said. He pointed out that Atomenergoprom had a specific NPP construction program till 2030.

First Vice President of Atomstroyexport Alexander Glukhov pointed out that his company hoped to take part in the implementation of the Energy Strategy of Ukraine till 2030 in terms of construction of new nuclear reactors. “We hope that we will be able to successfully compete on the highly competitive Ukrainian market,” Glukhov said. He pointed out that Russia was ready to offer Ukraine a complex solution, including construction of reactors and supply of nuclear fuel.

The 6th international forum “Fuel and Energy Complex: Present and Future” is being held Sept 24–26. Atomenergoprom is taking an active part in the organization of this event.
