OREANDA-NEWS. September 29, 2008. Yandex marks the second year of full scale operation of its Advertising Network (YAN). In the past year, the monthly number of clickthroughs to the advertisers’ web sites has tripled.

More than 10 million users daily see ads served by Yandex.Direct in the Yandex Advertising Network. Since September 2007, the monthly YAN audience has grown by 80 per cent. Currently, among the Yandex Advertising Network members are several largest Runet web sites like Mail.ru, Mamba.ru and Livejournal.com, as well as several web search resources of the Russian, Ukrainian and Belorussian Internet like Aport.ru, Gogo.ru, Nigma.ru, Km.ru, Ukr.net, Tut.by, All.by partnering with the Advertising Network.

"We serve more than half of all search queries in the Runet and deliver sizeable contextual traffic to our advertisers’ websites,” says Eugene Lomize, head of the Yandex advertising technologies group. “This gives us an opportunity to focus on quality when we select websites for our Advertising Network. This selectivity ensures quality conversions both from search results web pages and from websites in the YAN.”

Two years ago, in September 2006, Yandex opened its Advertising Network for broad participation and considerably simplified admission procedures for websites. To become a YAN partner a website has to have quality content and attract enough traffic. Since 2008 ads served on the websites in the YAN not only match their content, but also take into account user interests.
