OREANDA-NEWS  On 30 September was announced, that a delegation from the Socialist Republic of Vietnam headed by the deputy Prime-Minister of the government, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Gia Khiem, paid a visit to the JSC “Zarubezhneft” office. A working meeting between the company administration and the guests took place, the main topic was the Russian-Vietnamese cooperation in the oil recovery field.

During the exchange of views Pham Gia Khiem particularly noted that Russia and Vietnam are partners in this field for a long time, at its time the Soviet Union had done a lot to establish the oil-producing facilities of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. “Zarubezhneft” played an important part there too. Today “Petrovietnam” and “Zarubezhneft” have extensive experience of joint work and JV “Vietsovpetro” is an exemplary enterprise with production traditions of many years. The head of the Vietnamese delegation wished the company further more productive cooperation and expressed hope that their production interests will not only be limited by the territories of Vietnam and Russia but will also take place in third countries.

Addressing the participants of the meeting the general director of JSC “Zarubezhneft” N.G. Brunich underlined that the Russian government marked JV “Vietsovpetro” as the best joint venture in oil recovery field and named it a very important, long-term and effective project. The experience has shown that “Zarubezhneft” and “Petrovietnam” can fruitfully cooperate for the benefit of both states.

Further he noted that after JSC “Zarubezhneft” win in the tender for the exploitation rights for the four blocks of CKU in the Nenetsk Autonomous Region a new step in the cooperation of Russian and Vietnamese partners has outlined. As it’s known for the work on the areas a new LLC “JC Rusvietpetro” was established, and recently it was given the licences for the CKU blocks. “Petrovietnam” was offered to take part in the project. Russian and Vietnamese experts prepared an Agreement on the terms of “Petrovietnam” entering “Rusvietpetro” that is to be signed.

The signing of the agreement of “Petrovietnam” purchasing the 49% share is scheduled on the end of October.

N.G. Brunich also expressed confidence that the partner companies are to have a lot of interesting joint work, including work in the third countries.

After the working meeting the general director of JSC “Zarubezhneft” and the general director of OGG “Petrovietnam” Chan Ngoc Khan signed an Agreement for the cooperation of JSC “Zarubezhneft” and OGG “Petrovietnam” in the field of oil and gas search, exploration and recovery in Russian Federation.
