OREANDA-NEWS. October 3, 2008. Eight nuclear submarines will be built under new state armament program by 2015, Deputy Chief Commander of the Navy of Russia, Admiral Alexander Tatarinov said during a press-conference today.

The Navy has begun building ships and nuclear submarines on a serial basis. In accordance with the new state armament program, we are planning to build a series of eight nuclear submarines, which will armed with new Bulava strategic missile,” Tatarinov said.

He pointed out that the program was aimed at keeping nuclear deference forces at a level that would guarantee the security of the country. Bulava missile system will help the Navy to effectively solve its tasks.

Bulava missile will be put into service in 2009.
