OREANDA-NEWS. October 9, 2008. Rosatom’s stand has a bright original design. It reflects all the changes that have taken place in Russia’s nuclear industry during the last period and demonstrates its best technologies, ecological advantages and openness.

Atomenergoprom OJSC and its subsidiary companies – TVEL OJSC, Atomstroyexport CJSC and Atomenergoproekt OJSC — are also taking part in the exhibition.

The highlight of the exhibition is the construction of Belene NPP, Bulgaria’s biggest investment project in the last 18 years. Vice Premier of Russia Sergey Sobyanin and Prime Minister of Bulgaria Sergei Stanishev pointed out the importance of the project for the Russian-Bulgarian cooperation.

Two years ago Atomstroyexport won an open international tender for the construction of a nuclear power plant in Bulgaria – two WWER-1000/B-466 reactors. This victory paved the way back for Russian nuclear technologies into Europe.

Rosatom’s stand presents other aspects of the fruitful cooperation of Russian nuclear companies with Bulgarian partners, joint innovative projects and Russian products and services in Bulgaria.

On Oct 9 Astomstroyexport CJSC is conducting a roundtable “Russian-Bulgarian Cooperation in the Field of NPP Construction.” The roundtable is being held by Vice President of Atomstroyexport CJSC G.Tepkyan and Manager of Belene project Iordan Georgiev.

The key topics of the roundtable are “Opportunities and Experience of NPP Construction Abroad” (Atomstroyexport CJSC), “NPP 2006” (Energoprom OJSC), “Key Design Solutions for Construction of Belene NPP” (Atomenergoproekt OJSC), “Development of WWER Technology under Federal Target Program “Development of Nuclear Industry of Russia in 2007–2010 and -2015”” (Gidropress), “TVEL Corporation on the World Nuclear Fuel Market: Cooperation on Supply of Fuel for Bulgarian NPPs” (TVEL OJSC).

The National Exhibition is one of the key events of the Year of Russia in Bulgaria. The motto of the exhibition is Russia and Bulgaria: new Cooperation Prospects. The objective is to promote the further development and strengthening of trade-economic ties between Russia and Bulgaria, to diversify the forms and directions of the Russian-Bulgarian economic cooperation, to enlarge cooperation in the social and humanitarian sectors, to strengthen business and cultural ties.
