OREANDA-NEWS  On 14 October was announced, that Transaero Airlines will increase frequencies on Moscow – Vladivostok – Moscow route starting from October 26, 2008 from current 4 to 6 per week. The airline is to serve the route on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Transaero has been offering lower fares for its scheduled flights since September 10, 2008. For instance, the fares for domestic flights have been decreased by 3%, while the most affordable fares have gone down by 5%. Such a decision was taken following the decrease in jet fuel prices thanks to efficient steps made by the Russian Government. The greatest benefit will get Transaero passengers traveling on long-haul routes, for instance from Moscow to the Far East (to Anadyr, Vladivostok, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatski, Khabarovsk and Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk).

Transaero Airlines, which pursues responsible pricing policy perfectly understands the social significance of long-haul routes. It will do its best to further increase comfort and affordability of its product to passengers. That is why the airline plans to start using -777s, its most modern and comfortable airplanes, on routes connecting Moscow with the cities of the Russian Far East. High speed and excellent fuel efficiency of the airplanes will help Transaero take further steps to cut operating costs on relevant routes.

However, the airports in the Far East are not certified to handle and maintain -777s. That is why the Federal Agency for Air Transport submitted an urgent request to the relevant airports’ management to complete certification process within a short period of time. Transaero is positive that the acquisition of the certificates allowing the airports to serve -777s will become an important step in the air transportation development in Russia.
