OREANDA-NEWS. October 28, 2008. In January-September 2008, output of industrial enterprises of all forms of ownership amounted to 21 billion 776 million 900 thousand leis, or 2,8% more than at the same period of the last year.

According to the National bureau of statistics, the growth in volume of output has been stipulated by the increase of production of enterprises of food industry and beverages – by 7,4 % and power sector – by 6,4 %; making 38,6 % and 10,3 % in the total amount of the output.

Essential growth in volume of output has been registered at the enterprises producing wine- by 43,8 %, distilled alcohol drinks – by 37,1 %, dairy products – 7,4 , steam and hot water supply– 15,1 %, electric power distribution – 3,5 %, production of bread and fresh confectionery products – 9,7 %, production , processing and meat conservation – 8,4 %, production of rubber and plastic – 5,6 %, furniture – 17,5 %, cocoa, chocolate and confectionery products from sugar – 15,4 %.

The volume of output in mining industry has increased by 8,5 %, in steel works – by 31,9 %. Output of cement, plaster and limestone has grown by 14,4 %, medicines and pharmaceutical goods – by 12,6 %, paints and varnishes –12,2 %, footwear –2,3 %.

At the same time, production of clothing enterprises decreased by 12,6 %, processing and conservation of fruits and vegetables – by 15,3 %, paper and cardboard– 22,4 %, beer –18,4 %, oils and fats – 9,9 %, tobacco products – 15,6 %, glass and glass products- 8,9 %.
