OREANDA-NEWS. October 31, 2008. DTEK, the leader of the fuel and energy industry in Ukraine, today has published its production results for 9 months 2008. The company’s market share in coal production of Ukraine has reached 22,5 %, electricity generation by TPP and electricity distribution – 21,87 % and  6,7 % accordingly.
 
Both coal mining and enrichment plants showed positive trend. Total coal production increased in January-September 2008 by 13,4 % up to 13,2 mln t.,  thermal coal production increased by 8,4 % up to 10,6 mln t. comparing to the same period of previous year.
 
In October 2007, DTEK acquired 2 enrichment plants – Dobropolskaya CEP and Oktyabrskaya CEP. It gave an opportunity to increase enrichment volume and production of concentrate for powered coal combustion by 74,9 % and  77,7 % respectively comparing to the same period of 2007.
 
For 9 months 2008, Vostokenergo, generation entity of DTEK, supplied 12,9 mln MWh to WEM, which is in line with 2007 level.
 
In 2008, DTEK has continued its investment program. Power unit #2 of Zuyevskaya TPP and power unit #5 of Kurakhovskaya TPP have been put on hold for a planned reconstruction. It was followed by a minor decrease in electricity output in the Q3 2008 for 1,26 %, comparing to Q3 2007. The installed capacity utilization rate (ICUR) of Vostokenergo in Q3 2008 amounted to 49,1%.
 
In 9 months 2008, power supplying entities of DTEK, Service-Invest LLC and PES-Energougol OJSC, have transmitted over their networks 10,7 mln МWh, which is  27,09 % up y-o-y.
 
Service-Invest and PES-Energougol’s share of the total purchase from WEM increased by 1.67 % y-o-y and totaled 6.7 %.
