OREANDA-NEWS  On 01 November was announced, that the unique cultural centre Underwater Theatre Transparent World will appear in Moscow as a part of the oceanarium under construction scheduled to open in 2012.

“The cultural centre Underwater Theatre Transparent World is to occupy the area adjacent to the railway line to Kiev located in the western administrative district of Moscow and limited in the north by Poklonnaya Street, in the south by a duplicate of Kutuzovsky Avenue that is being designed, in the west by Minskaya Street, in the east by the third ring road,” a source from City Hall said.

The Underwater Theatre has made shows in a swimming pool of the Moscow Olympic Sports Complex since 2001 but it still has no its own premises.

Besides the underwater theatre, the oceanarium will comprise the expositions recreating the environment of seas and oceans. It will be possible to see about 30 species of fishes and plants, for instance, tropical fishes, flora and fauna of the northern seas as well as the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea, the River Volga. The Moscow oceanarium will also become a home for roughly 30 species of sharks.

The structure will have 3 underground levels and the objects of various heights above the ground, the highest ones will be a hotel and a shopping centre which will go up to 170 m. A reservoir with the height of 16 m and the capacity of 12,000 cu m will be located in the centre of the structure. The area of the whole complex will total 180,000 sq m. The oceanarium will have a 4-screen multiplex as well.
