OREANDA-NEWS. November 6, 2008. The Russian-Algerian Business Council held its third session on October 23, 2008. The meeting was part of Arabia-EXPO 2008, which was timed to coincide with this anniversary session of the RABC. Arab-EXPO 2008 is the first Russian-Arabian business fair ever to be held. Session participants discussed Russian-Algerian trade and economic relations and measures that might be taken to enhance cooperation between the countries.

The Russian and Algerian co-chairmen of RABC, Stroytransgaz Vice-President Sergei Vinnichenko and SIM General Director Taieb Ezzraimi, respectively, delivered welcoming addresses to representatives of russian and algerian business circles. First Secretary to the Algerian Ambassador to the Russian Federation Nassim Mokrani took part in the session. The work of the council proceeded in a friendly and business atmosphere.

Those who spoke at the session emphasized the importance of developing cooperation in such areas as construction, industry, finance, agriculture, trade, and tourism. Speakers from both sides noted that approaches to two-sided relations were similar, which, in their opinions, would facilitate expanding contact between businessmen from Russia and Algeria. Arabia-EXPO 2008, concurrently taking place in Moscow, made a concrete contribution to that process.
