OREANDA-NEWS. November 10, 2008. In January-October, 2008, container throughput of Vostochnaya Stevedore Company (VSC, Global Ports Investments Ltd) operating in Vostochny Port (Primorje Territory) climbed by 14%, year-on-year, to 348,333 TEU, VSC reports.

In the reported period, the terminal handled 141,508 TEU of export traffic (+25%, year-on-year) and 198,498 TEU of import traffic (+12%).

Transshipment of coastal trade containers fell by 34%, year-on-year, to 7,911 TEU, transit - 416 TEU (– 85%).

In the reported period, import accounted for 57% of VSC total throughput, export – 40.6%, coastal trade cargo - 2.3%,  transit - 0.1%.

Vostochnaya Stevedore Company LLC is the largest container terminal in the Far East of Russia. It operates at Vostochny port. 25% of the company are owned by port operator DPW, 75% - Global Ports Group (part of N-Trans Group).
