OREANDA-NEWS. November 11, 2008. Irkut Corporation is the general partner of the 3rd Russian Lean Forum taking place in Chelyabinsk from 11 to 14 November 2008. The participants are to discuss the implementation of Lean-technologies that became one of the popular methods of increasing production efficiency.

In early 2008 Irkut Corporation was among the first Russian aerospace industry enterprises to pioneer stage-by-stage implementation of continuous improvements’ philosophy. Stage number one is to see all personnel retrained to master Lean-technologies’ tools and methods that will be available to all Irkut divisions, design bureaus and management in future.

For the first time in the history of the Russian aviation industry Lean-technologies are being applied by Irkut staff since the very beginning of developing the MC-21 new generation airliner family to be serially produced at IAP.
