OREANDA-NEWS  On 12 November was announced, that JSC "BTA Bank" jumped 27 positions – from 58th to 31st place in annual TOP 200 Asian Banks rating (TOP 200 Asian Banks), states The Banker international financial publication.

First 20 leading banks remained on the same positions in comparison with the previous year. Beside China, the leader of the Asian bank system (41% of the rating), leading positions hold Korean banks (13%). On the third place – Australian banks (12% of the rating). In general 7 Kazakhstani financial institutions were ranked among TOP 200 Asian banks.

"The year 2007 was difficult for Kazakhstani banks as the international capital markets blocked the access to their resources while local markets faced a great drop in real estate prices. Nevertheless The Banker showed another situation in its TOP 200 Asian Banks rating. Thus, the majority of Kazakhstan banks have improved their 1 Tier capital positions, and BTA Bank has made a "breakthrough of the year" among 25 Asian banks", has noted Financial Director of The Banker, Phillip Alexander.
