OREANDA-NEWS. November 13, 2008. In January-October 2008, Rostovski Port OJSC handled 1.767.7 million tonnes (+20.8%, year-on-year), the company’s press center reports. According to the company, the port handled mainly metal, scrap metal, ore, alumina, bentonite clay.

The port of Rostov is located on both sides of the Don river and includes four independent cargo districts. Total length of the berths is 2.6 km with the depth from 3.8 to 5.6 meters. Sixteen 5,000-dwt vessels with draft up to 3.8 meters may be simultaneously handled at the port’s berths.

Rostovski Port OJSC was set up in 1993. The port’s capacity is 12,000 tonnes of cargo per day as the port station may handle up to 160 wagons per day.
