OREANDA-NEWS. November 17, 2008. In January-October, 2008, Russian ports handled 380.5 million tonnes (+1.6%, year-on-year).

In the reported period, transshipment of dry cargo grew by 5.6% to 161.9 million tonnes, including 27.4 million tonnes in large-capacity containers (+10.2%). Transshipment of liquid bulk cargo fell by 1.2%, year-on-year, to 218.7 million tonnes.

Operators of North-West sea terminals handled 179.8 million tonnes (+3.1%, year-on-year), Far East – 68.05 million tonnes (+2.7%), South ports – 132.7 million tonnes (-1%, year-on-year).

In the 10-month period, ASOP members handled 186.1 million tonnes (+2.5%, year-on-year). 
In the North-West region the following ports increased their throughput: First Container Terminal CJSC (+13.0%), Petrolesport OJSC (+13.8%), Baltic Bulker Terminal OJSC (+13.4%), Kaliningrad Sea Commercial Port OJSC (+3.7%), Archangelsk Sea Commercial Port OJSC (+24.3%), Vyborg Port LLC (+19.6%), Petersburg Oil Terminal CJSC (+2.7%); in the South Basin: Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port OJSC (+1.5%), Novolesexport OJSC (+5.8%), Makhachkala Commercial Seaport FSUE (+2.4%); in the Far East Basin: Nakhodka Commercial Seaport OJSC (up 1.5 times), Vanino Commercial Seaport OJSC (+ 4.1%), Commercial Port of Vladivostok OJSC (+35.1%,) Vostochnaya Stevedore Company LLC (+10.8%), Commercial Port Posjet  (up 1.8 times).
