OREANDA-NEWS. November 17, 2008. Svetlogorsk Khimvolokno will supply pilot batches of heat-resisting materials to China, representatives of the company said.

Svetlogorsk Khimvolokno made a presentation of the new product — improved heat-resisting material Arselon — as part of the National Expo of Belarus during the Chinese international industrial fair in Shanghai. Representatives of 16 Chinese companies visited the presentation and were offered a wide choice of product samples and information papers about Arselon parameters and applications. The potential partners were especially interested in using heat-resisting materials for filtering and for manufacturing special workwear. Contracts have been signed with the Chinese companies for the delivery of pilot batches of Arselon for testing.

Svetlogorsk Khimvolokno plans to secure a spot on the Chinese market with these new products. Such materials are not manufactured in the CIS. Svetlogorsk Khimvolokno’s main competitors are American and Japanese companies. Belarus-made Arselon is as good as foreign analogues and is manufactured using a proprietary technology. In order to promote its products, Svetlogorsk Khimvolokno plans to hold similar presentations next year not only in Asia but in Europe as well. In 2009 the company plans to at least double the export of Arselon.

Arselon materials boast unique qualities, including high thermostability, tolerance against naked flame, chemical reagents and others. This year the company reconstructed the manufacturing facility doubling its output capacity. Apart from that, the new equipment improved the quality of the heat-resisting materials Svetlogorsk Khimvolokno manufactures.

Founded in 1964, Svetlogorsk Khimvolokno is a major Belarusian petrochemical company. The company incorporates enterprises, which produce textile threads and artificial fibres. The company employs over 6,000 people.
