OREANDA-NEWS. November 17, 2008. Stroytransgaz has begun work on a new section of the Eastern Siberia-Pacific Ocean oil pipeline –the sixth, which is located in Olyokminsk in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). The company received a contract for the construction work in late October 2008.

This new section of the oil pipeline, 52 kilometers in length with a diameter of 1,220 millimeters, is situated between the 1,756-kilometer and the 1,809 kilometer marks along the ESPO route. Already the company has cleared and prepared the right-of-way, assembled the base for welding pipe, and transported 70 pieces of equipment to the construction site.

Stroytraansgaz is presently completing construction of the linear part of the fifth section of the ESPO, the Mogot-Tynda. That facility runs 87.3 kilometers and also has a diameter of 1,220 millimeters; it is situated between the 2,522-kilometer and the 2,620-kilometer marks along the ESPO route. Eighty-six kilometers of pipeline have been welded and bedded in the trench, including crossings beneath the Baikal-Amur main and the Gila River. The company is now laying a 1,300-meter crossing of the Gila River, the second underwater crossing.

Stroytransgaz has fully rolled out construction work on the Skovorodino oil pumping station in Bolshoi Never in the Skovorodino region of Amur Oblast. It is assembling six reservoirs for oil storage, each with capacity to store 50,000 cubic meters of oil. Preparation for the foundation under three additional 5,000-cubic meter reservoirs is nearly complete as are the foundations for the pumping station, the maintenance building, the fire depot, and the fire extinguishing pump. Welding continues for industrial pipelines and a motorway within the site.
