OREANDA-NEWS. November 25, 2008. According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the growth in industrial output was stipulated by the increase in production of food and beverage industry - by 7.6% and power sector - 5%.

The significant increase in production was registered at the enterprise engaged in production of wines- by 36.1%, distilled alcohol beverages - 34%, sugar - 36.7%, dairy products - 5.5%, fresh bread and confectionery products - 8,8%, steam and hot water supply- 11%, production and distribution of electricity - 3.1%, production, processing and canning of meat - 6.7%, production of cocoa, chocolate and sugar confectionery - 12.1%, furniture - 14.9%, rubber and plastic products - 3.4%.

Production in mining industry grew by 6.7%; in steel industry-by 25.4%. Production of cement, gypsum and limestone grew by 7.1%, paints and varnishes - by 12.5%, medicines and pharmaceutical products - by 6.9%.

At the same time, the decrease in output was registered at the enterprises engaged in production of clothing - 14.7%, beer - 18.7%, paper and cardboard - 24.7%, processing and canning of fruits and vegetables - 9, 6%, production of oils and fats - 3.8%, tobacco - 12.4%, glass- 6.1%, products from concrete, plaster and cement - 14.0%.
