OREANDA-NEWS. November 27, 2008. In January-October 2008, the Mozyr Oil Refinery increased the oil processing depth to 68.25%, or 2% up over the same period of last year.

In the period under review, the withdrawal of light oils increased by 3%.

At present, the Mozyr Oil Refinery is successfully carrying out the technical reconstruction which includes four stages. Some USD 1.2 billion is expected to be invested in the reconstruction of the company. In line with the first stage of the reconstruction programme, a benzene production facility and an alkylation unit have been already launched.

By 2011, specialists of the Mozyr Oil Refinery intend to expand the processing depth to 92-94%. To reach these parameters, the company is assembling several technological units simultaneously including a petrol hydrodesulphurization unit, a hydrogen production unit and a diesel fuel hydrogen refining unit. Two of these units are expected to be launched in 2009. At present, the project on construction of a paraxylene production unit is being considered by experts.

According to specialists, the global financial crisis and the difficulties with banking loans will not have a serious influence on the reconstruction rates of the company. The Mozyr Oil Refinery has enough its own funds to continue the works.
