OREANDA-NEWS. December 22, 2008. All projects between Russia and Bulgaria, including energy and nuclear energy ones, will be implemented timely, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov said after his meeting with Bulgarian colleague Ivailo Kalfin.

“There are no grounds for supposing that any of the Russian-Bulgarian projects may be delayed or postponed. The Southern Stream, Burgas-Alexandroupolis and Belene NPP projects will be implemented irrespective of political and economic situations. Today we have reconfirmed our commitment to implement them in time,” Lavrov said.

“We also support Bulgaria’s initiative to conduct an energy security conference in Apr 2009. We will actively participate in its organization. I think that the efforts to create artificial obstacles and to bypass additional opportunities of gas and oil supply from Russia to Europe are contrary to the cause of strengthening of European security,” Lavrov said.
