The President of Air Astana - Peter Foster welcomed the guests and gave the word to the members of the Board of Directors: Azat Bekturov, the Vice-Minister of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Nigel Bradley, Commercial Director of BAE Systems. By cutting the ribbon, they marked a new phase of the airline’s development of its own sales network. The sales office will be operating 24 hours, 7 days a week. In addition, the ticket sales office will soon be opened at Astana Airport whereby the passengers can benefit of the new airline service in both the city as well as at the airport. Air Astana plans to open its office in Atyrau soon and during 2009, sales offices will be opened at all airports served by Air Astana in Kazakhstan.

The sales office in Astana ranks second after Almaty which was recently inaugurated . Direct sale of air tickets through Air Astana’s own sales network became possible with the introduction of 100% e-ticketing after creation of the E-BSP in Kazakhstan. This major development structurally changed and simplified the system of selling airline tickets. The opening of Air Astana’s network of sales offices is a great advantage for both the airline and its passengers.
