OREANDA-NEWS. December 25, 2008.  In January-November 2008, container terminal “Tuchkovo” (Far Eastern Transport Group OJSC) handled 60,240 TEU (up 4.5 times), the company reports. During the first year of the terminal’s operation it returned some 15% of investments. By the end of 2008 the company plans to raise it by additional USD 1.5 mln. Thus payback period is to make 4.5 years according to the business plan. Container terminal “Tuchkovo” is a joint investment-infrastructure logistics project of Far Eastern Transport Group and Pantos Logistics (S. Korea).

SVKh “Tuchkovo” includes an open area (about 8000m) and a premise (about 800m2), which have up-to-date equipment and meet all customs requirements of the Russian Federation. There is hi-tech equipment at the SVKh that makes it possible to execute all the necessary procedures of the customs control: radiation control, X-ray control (max. pallet size-1450Ч1800), searching dosimeter control, there is also necessary hoisting and weighing equipment, pallet-packing equipment. All the equipment has necessary certificates, permissions and verifying papers.

 The terminal has two rail tracks with the total length of more than 1000m and an open area for storing of high capacity containers with the total square footage of 14000m2. It can house about 800Ч40’ containers. The newest hoisting equipment is used at the terminal – “reach stacker FERRARI 379” capable of high-rise stacking up to 5 tiers.
