OREANDA-NEWS. December 29, 2008. The meeting of the Board of Directors of JSC “Scientific-production Corporation “Irkut” was held on the 24th December 2008.

Board of Directors examined and validated the preliminary results of the Corporation’s production and finance activities in 2008. The 2008 plan, envisaging production of the multi-purpose Su-30MK fighters for the Air Force of India, Malaysia, Algeria, is fully completed.  The Corporation successfully mastered the Yak-130 combat trainer production on basis of digital technologies and the Yak-130 state flight trials for combat employment are nearly fulfilled. The first contract for the Be-200ChS amphibian aircraft delivery to the foreign customer has been implemented. Within the scope of international industrial cooperation program the components for Airbus A320 airliners have been serially manufactured.  In close cooperation with the partners in the joint venture of Airbus-EADS-EFW (Elbe Flugzeugwerke GmbH) Corporation specialists have finalized conceptual design for converting passenger A320 airliners into freighters, have selected the design of aircraft key systems and assemblies.

While implementing the diversification strategy in 2008 “Irkut” Corporation has deployed the large-scale development of the new MC-21 short-mid range passenger airliner (main-line jet of the XXI century). In August this program passed Gate 2 (pilot project approval) and Irkut is currently working on conceptual design. Leading Russian and international companies that specialize in developing engines, avionics, aircraft equipment and systems were sent the requests for technical and commercial proposals.

Board of Directors also validated the budget for 2009 accounting for the current expenditures’ cut-back program. Board of Directors approved the plan for Corporation’s economic development in 2009.
