OREANDA-NEWS. On 11 January 2008 was announced, that Luganskteplovoz holding (PFTS: LTPL), a monopolistic producer of main-line freight diesel locos in Ukraine, in 2008, according to the preliminary data, increased its sales 2.6 times vs. 2007 to UAH 1.28 bn.

The increase in output and sales the company explains by significant growth of orders for diesel locos after it was purchased by Briansk Machine Engineering managing company, being part of large Russian Transmashholding.

The more detailed information about its performance in 2008 the company will present later. Before, it was said that due to the difficult financial situation and in order to streamline its costs the company cut its working week to three days since November.

In 2007, the company increased its net sales by 20.5% vs. 2006 – to UAH 533 mn, and to some extent cut its losses – to UAH 15 mn.

In 2008, Luganskteplovoz expected to produce only 110 sections of 2ТE116U diesel loco, as well as to supply to Ukrainian railroads 3 EPL2T electric trains and 14 2EL5 electric locos.
