Alyona Ashurkova, President of National Container Company says: “The year 2008 was quite successful for NCC as a whole. It will also be remembered for a number of milestone achievements and record breaks. The First Container Terminal proved its right for bearing the pride name of “First” having handled more than 1 million TEU for the first time in history of maritime transport in Russia and the region of the Baltic Sea. On the coast of Black Sea, Ukrtranscontainer (UTC) managed to significantly increase its turnover under rather complicated circumstances and surpassed the bar of 0.5 million TEU. Another major breakthrough for NCC and the industry as a whole was the integration of FCT and the off-dock terminal in Shushary (St. Petersburg) under the same customs post. In 2009 the company will concentrate its efforts on further improvement of service quality for our clients as well as extension and diversification of relevant service portfolio”.
