OREANDA-NEWS. January 20, 2009. The National Exhibition of Turkmenistan which will be held in Tashkent, the capital of the Republic of Uzbekistan on February 25-27, 2009 will be a new step towards enhancing and furthering the ties of friendship and good neighbourliness, mutually advantageous Turkmen-Uzbek cooperation. In accordance with the Resolution of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan is to organize the large forum in collaboration with the national sectoral ministries and departments. The Uzekspocenter Public Corporation will provide the organizational support.

The large forum aimed at demonstrating Turkmenistan’s economic achievements in the epoch of New Revival and presenting the perspectives and opportunities of furthering effective collaboration to Uzbek partners is in active preparation. This exhibition is the first one in the modern history of Turkmenistan ever held abroad. The trade and economic relations developed by the two neighbouring countries over centuries and brought nowadays up to a higher level can vividly exemplify mutually advantageous partnership. The exposition in Tashkent will foster the fruitful business dialogue as well as traditional cultural exchange between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

Two large pavilions of the Uzekspocenter Public Corporation will house the expositions of over 45 exponents representing the basic sectors of Turkmen economy, leading industrial enterprises, capital city and five regions of the country and private sector. This representative economic forum, which will undoubtedly become a remarkable event in the history of the bilateral relations, will be an opportunity to get acquainted with advanced technologies and product samples of the subdivisions of the fuel and energy sector, agro-industrial complex, textile, pharmaceutical, light and construction materials industries, etc. The expositions of Turkmenhaly State Joint Stock Corporation and Turkmen Atlary State Association will be of particular interest to the visitors. The age-old traditions of Turkmen carpet weaving and horse breeding will be widely represented from the original sources till modern achievements in Tashkent.

The diversified exposition will present products as well as trends in further development of various sectors of the Turkmen economy to Uzbekistan’s business circles as well as establish the direct dialogue between potential partners and diversify traditional cooperation that meets the goals and objectives of modern times.
