OREANDA-NEWS. January 21, 2009. A joint assembling production of Gomselmash harvesters will be set up in Tatarstan. The agreement was reached at the end of the visit of a governmental delegation of the Republic of Tatarstan (the Russian Federation) led by Prime Minister Rustam Minnikhanov to Gomel on January 21.

The guests visited the leading plant of the Belarusian agricultural engineering and held talks with the authorities of the oblast executive committee. Head of Government of Tatarstan told reporters that the taken decision was based on a long-term cooperation between Tatarstan and the Belarusian farm machine makers. “Today Gomselmash products are in great demand in Tatarstan. Success made in our agriculture is mainly attributed to these farm machines,” Rustam Minnikhanov added.

Combine harvesters are expected to be assembled on the Tatelektromash production grounds. This year some 50 harvesters will be produced. The output will be increased up to 250 machines per year including other types of combine harvesters. The aforesaid will boost sales of products to other regions of the Russian Federation.

Over the last five years Tatarstan has been one of Gomselmash major trade and economic partners in the Russian Federation. In 2007, the region purchased 109 fodder and grain harvesters, this figure almost doubled in 2008. The plant provides maintenance services to the Belarusian agricultural vehicles as well as tests Gomselmash new developments. The company invites Tatar specialists to train at the high-technology equipment. According to the experts, the joint venture will continue developing bilateral business links.
