OREANDA-NEWS. On 22 January 2009 IES-Holding announced an Energy Cooperation Competition among energy consumers to be held from February through April 2009 in order to select and reward the Company's most efficient heat and electricity consumers.

Based on the results of 2008, competition commissions involving independent energy efficiency experts will select the best corporate consumers of heat and electricity in each region (in five consumer categories). Nominees will be assessed by a set of criteria including the introduction of energy-saving technologies; the use of up-to-date energy consumption accounting and control systems, and installation of ASKUE (Automatic system for commercial accounting of electricity consumption) and ASKUT (Automatic system for commercial accounting of heat consumption) units; accurate and complete fulfillment of contractual terms.

There will be three nominees in each category to compete for the Energy Effect of the Year award. Unconscientious consumers will be distinguished as the Energy Vampires of the Year.

Along with top managers of IES-Holding's enterprises, the competition commissions will include representatives of the expert community, such as the Center for Efficient Energy Use and other non-profit and industry-specific organizations that promote higher energy efficiency and energy saving practices among consumers.

More details of the competition's regulations and rules of participation will be available on IES-Holding's corporate website in February 2009.
