OREANDA-NEWS. January 23, 2009.Arbitrage Court of the Astrakhan region has decided to adjourn consideration of a suit filed by the region’s Prosecutor’s office to the regional government with a claim to acknowledge transfer of Astrakhan Fishing Seaport assets to the authorized capital of Astrakhan Seaport CJSC.

According to the Prosecutor’s office, the transfer was carried out with violation of the legislation. State company Astrakhan Fishing Seaport was transferred to the Astrakhan region in 1992 by the order of the RF Government. In May 2006, Astrakhan Seaport CJSC was set up on the basis of the state company. Its majorshareholder was Sovfracht OJSC (51% shares). The region’s Property Ministry, which received 49% shares of the CJSC, invested the assets (warehouses and other port facilities of Astrakhan Fishing Seaport) valued at RUR 53.5 million  into the company’s authorized capital. In 2007, Astrakhan Seaport handled is the leader in the region in terms of handling paper and hazardous cargo.
