OREANDA-NEWS. On 30 January 2009 was announced, that five new station of the Moscow Metro are to open in 2009, Leonid Lipsits, head of Department for Transport and Communication of Moscow, said.

“Five metro stations are to be open this year. This is Dostoevskaya, Maryina Roshcha, Myakinino, Volokolamskaya and Mitino,” the official specified.

According to Mr Lipsits, the Moscow Metro railway network is to go beyond the city. Myakinino station will be located in the Moscow Region.

Earlier First Deputy Mayor of Moscow Pyotr Biryukov said the volume of funds allocated for developing the metro from the city budget in 2009 wasn’t cut towards 2008 and a cut in the funding wasn’t planed for 2 years to come.

According to First Deputy Mayor of Moscow Yury Roslyak, it is planned to allocate 40 billion roubles (~USD 1.2 billion) from the city budget funds for developing the Moscow Metro in 2009 and roughly 380 billion roubles (~USD 11.5 billion) in 6 years to come.
