OREANDA-NEWS. February 6, 2009. In 2008, Vostochnaya Stevedore Company (VSC, Global Ports Investments Ltd) handled 400,724 TEU (+8%, year-on-year), the company reports. In the reported period the company handled 169,730 TEU of export containers (+24%, year-on-year), 221,292 TEU of import containers (+2%), 9,278 TEU of coastal trade containers (-31%), 424 TEU of transit containers (–86%).

In 2008, import accounted for 55.2%, export – 42.4%, coastal trading – 2.3%, transit – 0.1%.

In December 2008, the company’s throughput fell by 23% to 23,384 TEU. Export grew by 25% to 14,527 TEU, import – fell by 54% to 8,430 TEU.

Vostochnaya Stevedore Company LLC is the largest container terminal in the Far East of Russia. It operates at Vostochny port. 25% of the company are owned by port operator DPW, 75% - Global Ports Group (part of N-Trans Group).
