OREANDA-NEWS. February 6, 2009. For January 2009 State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) exported 2,080,255,100 tons of oil via various routes, while in December export made 2.009 million tons and in 2008 – 22,588,176 tons.

The SOCAR Department of Marketing & Economic Operations (DMEO) informs that for January the Company exported 1,625,004.6 tons via Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline, 167,186.9 tons via Baku-Novorossiysk (northern route) pipeline, 287,063.6 tons via Baku-Supsa oil pipeline and there was no export via Baku-Batumi railway.

For comparison: in December 2008 it was exported 1.88 million tons via BTC, 82,506 tons via Baku-Novorossiysk, 246.69 million via Baku-Supsa and nothing via Baku-Batumi.

For 2008 the Company exported 20.469 million tons via Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline, 1.386 million tons via Baku-Novorossiysk (northern route) pipeline, 326,030 tons via Baku-Batumi railway, and 407,101 tons via Baku-Supsa oil pipeline.

In September 2006 Baku-Supsa pipeline repairs started. In May 2008 this pipe operation was resumed and in August stopped again. Its operation was resumed since the end of October.

In 2007 BTC pipe exported 6.534 million tons of SOCAR oil and 21.75 million tons of AIOC (Azerbaijan International Operating Company) oil, Baku-Novorossiysk pipe 1.228 million tons of SOCAR oil and 999,983 tons of AIOC oil, Baku-Batumi route 221,258 of SOCAR oil and 4.4 million of AIOC oil. Only AIOC oil (49,174 tons) was exported via Baku-Supsa pipe last year.
