OREANDA-NEWS. February 24, 2009. Novosibirsk Metallurgical Works named after Kuzmin, JSC (NMZ) (incorporated in Metallurgical Holding of ESTAR Group) introduced the automated maintenance control system (ACS-Repair), which will form a unified computer database for repair works at all production and repair sectors of the company.

Development of this system was based on the understanding, that steel works have rather high maintenance costs, and in production cost structure (less raw materials cost) they may amount to 30-40%. While developing and introducing the system, the goal of the management of NMZ was to ensure correct information about the past, current and expected condition of the equipment. This system will also help to manage costs on keeping working condition of the equipment and to obtain objective evaluation of effectiveness of this control.

The project implementation was organized by Information Technologies Office of NMZ. Development and introduction of the system was organized were done without involvement of outside organizations 1C:UPP, 8.0 was taken as the platform.
