OREANDA-NEWS. February 27, 2009. President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received Siemens AG top managers – Peter Loscher, President and Chief Executive Officer of Siemens and Rudi Lamprecht, Executive Advisor to the CEO of Siemens AG.

Thanking the Turkmen leader for the opportunity of a personal meeting the Siemens AG top managers expressed intense interest in further intensifying the fruitful dialogue and said that the company was proud of long-term cooperation with Turkmenistan.

Greeting the guests Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized that applying the best international practice and advanced technologies Turkmenistan gave preference to its long-term dependable partners including world-renowned Siemens. As is known cooperation between Turkmenistan and this large company had resulted in implementing dozens of the joint large-scale projects particularly in the spheres of healthcare, communication.

Focusing on the increasing interest displayed by the world and in particular German business community in Turkmenistan Mr. Peter Loscher said that it was conditioned by the country’s profound economic and resource potential as well as the scale of the progressive reforms initiated by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. To prove these words the German businessman presented the proposals on further cooperation in compliance with the ongoing social and economic programmes in Turkmenistan to the Turkmen leader for consideration.

The President and his guests discussed the opportunities to intensify partnership, identified and harmonized the promising trends. The fields of mutual interest included energy sector, the use of energy saving technologies, industry, modernization of transport infrastructure and heath care where the partners had accumulated the profound experience of cooperation.

Tanking for the confidence granted to Siemens Mr. Peter Loscher assured the President of Turkmenistan that his company would spare no effort to successfully implement the agreements and further traditional Turkmen-German partnership.
