OREANDA-NEWS. On 02 March 2009 was announced, that UNDP and the National Commission for Women affairs and Family-Demographic Policy under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan signed the co-sharing agreement for realization the joint project "Support of the National Commission for Women Affairs and Family-Demographic Policy under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan on perfection of measures of maintenance of gender equality in the Republic of Kazakhstan".

The project is directed on improvement of gender relations and strengthening the role of the woman in Kazakhstan society. The project envisages organizing the training on gender balance and new womanҒs role, economical and political women rights. During the project a number of researches on the topical issues of gender equality will be held.

In opinion of Mr. Haoliang Xu, UNDP Resident Representative, the significance of the project is in the fact that it is the first project which joint financed from republican budget and UNDP funds. According to Mr. Xu, the project will strengthen mechanisms of advancement of the rights and interests of women, namely the National commission for Women Affairs and Family-Demographic Policy under the President of the Republic which has become the effective mechanism of cooperation of the international organizations, non-governmental sector and state bodies.
