OREANDA-NEWS  On 05 March FAS Russia published press-release “Reforms of Antimonopoly Legislation”.

Said Igor Artemyev, the Head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia), at the extended session of the FAS Russia's Collegium, which took place on 3rd March 2009.

According to the expert survey, carried out by the UN Conference on Trade and Development, Russia is among the top ten countries in the world with the speediest reforms of the antimonopoly legislation.

"This is the best indicator of the performance of the antimonopoly authority on improving the competition legislation", pointed out the Head of FAS Russia.

Igor Artemyev also informed the session that FAS Russia moved from 38 to 32 - 36 place in the Global Competition Review' "Rating enforcement" of the antimonopoly authorities of various countries.

"In general, participation of FAS Russia in such events helps raising the profile of the Russian Federation among competition authorities, and develops relations with the leading experts on competition policy", concluded Igor Artemyev.

At the end, the Head of FAS Russia announced the forthcoming cartel seminar for the competition authorities from Russia and CIS under the aegis of the International Competition Network (ICN) and OECD in St Petersburg, and the "BRIC International Competition Conference", which will take place in September in Kazan'.
